A recently published study of more than 60,000 unnatural deaths across the USA, Canada, the UK and Europe showed that Virgos were the astrological sign most likely to die an unnatural death, as well as being the sign most likely to be murdered. In fact, a Virgo is 25% more likely to die an unnatural death than a Scorpio, the lowest ranking sign (but also the most likely sign to commit violence against others).
Looking at the personality traits and characteristics most often defining a Virgo may provide some insight into why this sign is a clear leader in unnatural deaths.
Virgos are frequently described by astrologers as being sensitive and caring and are frequently found in employment and social activities that involve service to others. Also known for being shy, Virgos are seen to be happy to stay out of the way while enjoying seeing those they have nurtured rise in success and fame.
On a less positive note, Virgos are also often described as being fussy, critical and narrow-minded. Renowned for their compulsive list making, organising skills that can border on obsessive compulsive disorder, and vocal judgemental criticism - whether it has been asked for or not!
Four methods of murder were examined in the Zodiac and Death study. Shooting, stabbing, strangling and beating (including being struck, kicked and hit). Virgo ranked highest in shooting and stabbing and also ranked equal second in strangling. Since assault and murder usually occurs within a relationship or domestic setting, this high ranking of Virgos probably indicates a serious problem that Virgos have with inter-personal relationships.
In fact, the scenarios of the deaths reviewed did reveal that the majority of the deaths where Virgos were murdered did occur in situations where the perpetrator "snapped" - frequently in situations where the Virgo victim had been relentlessly "nagging" or criticising, sometimes for a number of years.
Virgos can also be at risk of abuse in a relationship as they are staunchly faithful to their partner once they committed. Sometimes this devotion will well outlast the reality of the relationship and past the point where most people would have become cynical and given up. This devotion can put Virgos at risk of being "used" by a partner or may also cause frustration for the person who is trying to end a relationship that a Virgo won't release.
So Virgos need to beware of situations where their criticism and "nagging" may be getting them into hot water! Stopping to discuss issues with their friends and family and accepting that not everything needs to be organised to death and nor is their opinion welcomed all of the time, may save some Virgos from a nasty untimely end.
On the positive side, Virgos were the sign least likely to be involved in a fatal vehicle accident. So maybe the Virgo fastidiousness and attention to detail helps to keep them safe on the road.
